I’m titling this Radical Faith, but please take heed that this is not a testimony that someone should take out of context. There is a lot of prosperity teachings out there and if this comes across as such, then please let me know so that I may correct. Remember, it is written – James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Basically saying that we do not receive because we ask selfishly.. God is not a genie in a bottle.
At any rate, here is a lesson I have been learning over the past few years.. I pray it blesses you, in Jesus name, amen.
I’ll begin this post by saying that if we are praying, regardless of how we pray, we should never stop. Praying is an act of faith that God hears and will listen. God will meet us where we are at. This is where I am at with my Faith in the Great I Am and I’m sharing for the benefit of others.. glean from it what you will..
Many times, I hear prayers that lack faith in the written word of God. They go like something like this:
“Jesus, please help this person.. they need this and this and that. We pray that you guide the doctor. We pray that you cast this demon out. We pray that you provide for us. We pray that you do this.. We pray that you do that.. We pray that you do it all.. in the name of my unbelief..” – to which I cannot say, “Amen.”
I had spent a cpl of months in pain because of my right arm.. I couldn’t sleep at night.. All day long, I would shift my shoulder/arm/neck trying to get comfortable. Basically, I had a constant pain, 24/7.. all day, every day for at least 2-3 months. I did what we all do when we need healing – Google search and youtube videos of course! Searching all the ways to heal myself of this thing. According to a nurse friend of mine, I had a pinched nerve in my neck..? Idk.. and I don’t care now. ha. I received much advice for healing: visit a Chiropractor, stretching, posture, take pain meds, etc., but finally 1 day.. I got the needed medicine –
Below is a submission by Mark pertaining to Faith prayers. He makes some good points on how we can damage our own faith when prayers aren’t answered. Here are a few scriptures that spoke to me while reading his submission –
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Isaiah 1:15-16 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Matthew 17:20-21 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Lastly, I recommend these 3 posts –
Thank you Mark for sharing your experiences –
Most of the time I have sought out the Lord pertaining to guidance in life, He responds with Trust and Faith. The recent postings show me how God has not changed this teaching throughout my Christian walk, it is almost always the same guidance. Since the last posts, the messages have continued down the same line, Faith. But, they are now going a step further – Enduring in Faith. I pray this message blesses you and that His seed is glorified through abundant fruit. In Jesus name, amen. –
The Lord has taught me some further understanding about walking in faith, whereas I once thought that a Blind Step of Faith was incorrect. Faith believes in the unseen, walking in faith, not by sight. It’s a hope for something that is not yet – believing in the promises of God. Holding fast to the thing that is afar off and trusting that God is with me. Thank you Lord for opening my mind and teaching me about walking in faith. I pray that this post will help any readers.. and I pray that it is written on my heart, in Jesus name. Amen. –
The current guidance from God is continuing down the same path today. The overall message is: being conquerors, in-Christ, through whatever storms we may be addressed with. Quenching the fires, calming the storms, winds, and waves of life. Lord, thank you for being you and fulfilling your promises. Thank you for being trustworthy and faithful to your Word. As it is written, you cannot deny yourself, your Word, your promises… Praise the Lord my Rock! In your name Jesus, Amen.
Whenever I diligently seek after His guidance, He rewards as He says in Hebrews. Praise God Almighty –
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
This testimony of God answering prayers for guidance started in yesterday’s post, Jesus Quenches the Fire. In this post, Faith Calms the Storm, God is continuing this guidance. I know He has revealed this same lesson in the past, and here I am again. Learn the lesson or retake the course Joseph! It can get frustrating sometimes to repeat these lessons because I just want to walk in what He shows, 100% of the time. Tiller of the hearts, please prepare my heart so that your precious seeds can be planted on fertile soil, never to be stolen, never to fade.. Help me with constant ministering. I need continual Food, Light, and Water for the increase Lord. I pray for the increase that you promise. Help me Helper. Help all of us. Your Word says that it will not return to you void and it will do what it is purposed to do. I take my claim as a joint heir in-Christ and not only for myself, but for any saints that you have guided to this post, in Jesus name. Amen
