Weapons of Satan – Pride Part 1

Mark 8:36 – “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?”

My most recent bible studies and books I’m reading have all had the same theme – Pride, Self, Ego, etc.  It made sense for me to blog about it since He is blessing me with abundant teachings.  I pray I’m a good student and am learning well.  Some things are taken from scripture, Max Lucado’s Life Lessons on James, and the 3 Battlegrounds from Francis Frangipane.  I highly recommend a reading of my previous postings first.  Weapons of warfare, placing thoughts into captivity, Wisdom and Choice, and so on.  Many of these things come together in this post, so i highly recommend a gathering of knowledge. Weapons of Satan – Pride Part 2

The Lord revealed more to me today on this topic and I felt compelled to share what He has given. This is a follow-up to this post: Weapons of Satan – Pride Part 1.

Just as the Lord allowed Job to be attacked, He allows us to be attacked.  The sin itself, as well as the temptation, is not of the Lord.  The trials and tribulations we experience are blessed experiences for our growth.  The Lord allows Satan to work on us, for our well being and growth. How to get answered prayers Part 2

Here is a follow-up to the first part of this message – How to get answered Prayers – Part 1.  It’s a quick guide on how to spend your time within prayer, beginning with step 1.  Most of this was taken from a book, One Hour of Prayer – highly recommended:

1 Praise
Spend the first couple of minutes Praising the Lord for His character and for who He is. Use His names to praise Him. Read more…

Placing every thought into captivity

Taken from a Rick Warren Daily Devotional – “The fruit of the Spirit begins in your thought life. The seeds must be planted in your mind: The way you think determines the way you feel, and the way you feel determines the way you act.”

One area that has been a topic for me lately is placing every thought into captivity with Christ.  Read more…

My Confession

In order to have a clean heart before the Lord, I feel obligated to confess myself as a sinner as to not be a hypocrite.  The drive behind my postings utilize the Word of God and I do not feel right speaking on behalf of the Lord without confessing.

I do not claim to be perfect..  I claim to strive towards the goal of perfection, in Christ Jesus.  I am with faults though, both past and present – Read more…

Thought

I hope these next few postings pertaining to my self-growth will help someone that may need a little guidance.  This is something that most people probably go through?  I figured I’d document my growth, in hopes that it may help someone out there.  I have restructured my blog so that deeper understandings are posted after this one. Ultimate Choice is Jesus

I give glory to God for all gained wisdom/knowledge. In my earlier walk, I talk as if I have discovered.  In the end, it is God that has done this work
within me.  See, as I was an early Christian, I thought a lot about me, my abilities, etc.  As I continue to mature, the more I see that it has been God Almighty loving me, molding me, helping me, guiding me, teaching me, etc.  Praise God. So as some of my older postings show, I have young understanding of what the Lord was doing.  Now, I know, it was always Him.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this so I decided to go ahead and write this piece.  Read more…
