I agree, God works in us through the Holy Spirit to help us choose righteousness.. On the flips side, we also have the flesh trying to work in us in order to do its will.. Ultimately, the choice is ours on which one we side with. That's my understanding when examining scripture and how things work inside this mind.

Hey Wes, nice to meet you. Thank you so much for the edification. These are things the Lord has shown me and said "Reveal them". So this was from Him to you. :) Praise God. (that was a long post, eh? lol. I've worked on the post for years, tweaking it as I learn). And YES! I do that all the time when I'm moving forward. I have discussed this recently with a few brothers and sisters. It seems every time we think we are making good progress, wham! 1Cor10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.I think it's the Lord's way of keeping us humble. Otherwise we let things get to our heads, we get full of pride, etc. Or, it is Satan seeing our advancement and attacking. Or maybe both? The scripture about Satan's request to sift Peter may be what we experience in these situations:31 And the Lord said. “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” 33 But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.” 34 Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”Peter was convinced that he was ready to go w/ Him.. even to death. I think the Lord humbled him because of pride.. why? "so that you may later strengthen your brethren"Maybe that's what happens to us.. We go through these things so that our characters are strengthened... Thus, we can later strengthen our brethren when they are in similar situations. That's my take on it. :)At any rate, I'm happy to hear about the growth, praise praise praise God. Thanks for sharing!

Praise God!!! I have been struggling with looking at a situation going on in my life right now, giving it to God, taking it back etc. Everytime I think I am moving forward I get caught up in more drama and then I end up asking God to forgive me for getting in His way! After reading this, I did a little analyzing myself and wow did my eyes and ears burn lol. Seriously thanks for leaving this link with me. I NEEDED IT. I love the Lord with all my heart and He is #1 in my life, I have been studying His word, praying and seeking for some time now and committed some things to Him then satan comes along and makes sure that I see something that brings it back to my mind and then I end up saying things or doing things I know I shouldn't. I'm a fix it person, the hardest thing for me to do has been to let go and let God fix it and quit trying to help Him, (and yes I do acknowledge I never could fix anything, it was always God). I truly believe the "light" just came on and I can finally do that. Thank you and God bless.

I am so glad I came to read this!
