Death Trap
Throughout the years, from a 10,000 foot view, we can see death traps if we actually step out of ourselves and take a look. Many of us end up jumping from one job to another, one living situation to another, bouncing from one relationship to another… another hobby, another fix, another drug, another temporary fulfillment.. “This is the new me! Time to tackle this life! I’ll now take control and be happy!” type scenarios. When we’re in this death trap, I’m not sure if we can see the global view (how we are doing this over and over again)? I pray we all see our death traps and this post helps in doing so, enjoy –
There is definite “charge me up” moment when I push myself out of a valley and onto another mountain top. I can feel my adrenaline getting pumped-up just thinking about it! But.. globally/overall? It’s really the same death trap, each scenario only looks a little different. We continually set ourselves up on a new mountain top, only to begin an immediate tumble. The darkness in the valley will be our place in due time.. we just don’t see it yet because our eyes are on the newly discovered ‘happiness’ or thing. Deception at its finest! The valley is only a matter of time because the moment we deceptively set ourselves on high, we do not see that we are already tumbling down… down.. down.., into the ring of fire.
The next greatest idea will always look good, sound good, and feel good.. Our minds are now subtly being moved off of the current circumstance(s) and onto the new thing. Then weeks/months/years later: Crash!! A new thing is always necessary after the old fades – “I’m in the valley again!?!? What do I do? I have to find a new thing!” Rinse and repeat, over and over again. The years just pass us by… then we die, never obtaining that thing which our souls are trying to grasp. It’s a death trap..
There is much revelation in these scenarios that I don’t think we take enough time to examine from a global view. Instead, the here and now.. the thing(s) that can be felt/sensed now in the flesh – these can end up being our mind’s focus instead of seeing the cycle of a death trap. It’s called deception. It’s like being stuck in a hamster wheel.. a hamster wheel of life. Round and round we go, where it stops? Well.. we can already know! Instead of looking at what we can see with the eyes, we can take a grander look at the death trap. We’ve been here before, 100s if not 1000s of times. He who has been blessed with an ear to hear, let him hear! He who has been blessed with eyes to see, let him see! He who has a heart to receive, let him receive!
(If none of this makes sense or seems like hogwash, then you must be born again to see the kingdom of God. Thus, your feelings towards this are correct as it is viewed from the flesh/rational senses. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the spirit will see and understand spiritual things. If you have a desire within to understand these things, then please read this immediately, do not stop yourself: Inherit Eternal Life).
I think if we step outside of ourselves and look at our lives over the years… we can see these repeated attempts at trying to reach something. When examined further, we can find that this “something” we are trying to achieve is actually a spiritual need, but we are trying to fill the spiritual need with things that can be touched or understood in the flesh. Why? Because either we’re in the deceptive death trap, or we do not believe in God. Or, we say that we believe, but we do not pay attention to these spiritual matters (thus saying we are spiritual, but walking in the flesh.. a contradiction. Saying, “Lord, Lord..” but not knowing Him). We try to make sense out of these spiritual feelings/needs by filling them with physical matters.. Then, we make these attempts over and over again. It is IMPOSSIBLE to fix a spiritually thing with something in the physical. Impossible! It surely is a death trap.. a spiritual and physical death trap.
There is a huge battle going on.. Our souls are experiencing it, but it is being met with the wrong fulfillment. Thus, round and round we go until we receive sight into these matters… so that we may have a change of mind, be renewed, and be saved from this hell bound death trap. He who the Son sets free from the death trap is free indeed!!!
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, “With men this is impossible; but with God, all things are possible.”
