Flow of God’s Grace

The Grace of God FlowsFlow of Grace – A simple letter

I wonder how many times God’s grace flows into individuals through His vessels without us ever knowing it. Praise God that He blesses us with such knowledge. God’s grace refuels, edifies, and encourages. Lord, thank you for sharing so that I may continue the flow into your kingdom. I pray this blesses you –

1 Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

I’m won’t get into an in-depth look at grace, but there are a few different types, such as saving grace, serving grace, sustaining grace, etc. For example, in the 1Pet and 1Cor references above, these appear to me as serving grace. The Hebrews reference above is sustaining grace. I used these scriptures to show how sweet the flow is. Without getting into too many details of my personal life, here is an example of the serving grace, which also acts as sustaining grace for me (fuel for the fire of the Spirit) –

There is a sister in-Christ who was piled on by the enemy with some terrible things going on in life. Personal health challenges, grandchildren/family situations, some recent deaths in the family (their son), and now a son-n-law was in the hospital with trauma to the head by a chainsaw. (Lord, I pray for a pouring of your peace upon her and her family, in Jesus I pray, amen.) She just told me on the phone “Apparently I was in a state of shock.” It sounds like she was in a daze for a while.

She said “Joey, when you called my husband the other day, I was out of it. God came and helped me through you.” She continued, “I asked who it was and my husband said it was you, and the he told me what you said. Joey, I instantly woke from my state of shock. Even my Dr. said, “That was God working through him for you.”” Saving grace for her… sustaining grace for the reader and I… and serving grace. God’s grace is good.

I sent them a letter in the mail, and she said “What you wrote on the outside of the envelope also kept me going, thank you.. I thank God for you.” See… I didn’t know any of this at the time of my phone call, and I didn’t know it at the time that I sent the letter (we just got off the phone together about an hour ago). When I called her husband, it was His perfect timing. As I sealed the envelope, the Spirit moved with the Word in my head, so I wrote the verse on the back –

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Brothers and sisters, I urge you.. Please do not quench the Spirit of God.. Please.. please do not hinder the flow of His grace. When the Spirit moves, crucify that flesh and obey. If we quench anything, quench the self, which will want to dam up the flow of His grace (or it will want to flow the grace to an unintended target). Please, let Him have the reward of His suffering. Servant of Christ, it’s our reasonable service to be a living sacrifice for His good will and pleasure.

A couple of weeks ago, a sister at church was driving down a dirt road where there are just a few houses. There was an old lady walking on the road. The Spirit said stop and to check on her, but the flesh said “Nah, she’s ok… she’s just going for a walk.” Well, she quenched the flesh and turned around. The lady said she was going to her sister’s house. So she offered a ride. As they drove, it was evident that the lady had dementia. She hadn’t a clue where her sister lived and she was dehydrated. She was a couple of miles from home.

After this testimony from this sister, I looked back at my life.. How many times did the Spirit move me to stop for someone, and I did not. How many times has the Spirit tried to flow through this “living sacrifice”, but it all of a sudden became “living” again, and quenched the Spirit? How many times did the Lord say “Share My Word with this person,” but the flesh was more concerned about how I would be viewed?

Lord, we come to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace in time of need. Help us to be good stewards… as vessels of grace in the Body of Christ… as vessels that flow your grace in accordance to your will, not our own.  Bless us with your strength, your power, your mind, your heart, and your soul so that we may be filled with your wisdom in order to do the will of the Father. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
