Strength of an Eagle

Praise God for the Body of Christ, thank you Lord. You surely are a help in time of need and you give the strength of an eagle when needed. Here is a testimony of God’s confirming word. It’s restful, peaceful, and edifying to know that I’m in relationships with the right people. I pray this testimony blesses and edifies you too –

Today was a pretty busy day and as I was on my way to the shelter this evening, I felt spent. It was like I had no energy whatsoever. Basically, I felt whipped. The busyness of the day caused me to miss some reading and prayer time too. Also, I didn’t have any idea what the Lord wanted me to speak about. So, I did what any Christian should do.. I called the Body of Christ and asked for prayer. :)

I tried a friend but got her answering machine and left a message. Then a minute later, my friend Daniel called. I asked for prayer and he prayed a very good prayer – about sending out harvester’s and the need for seed to be sown. Then as we were saying goodbye, my other friend called back and gave me a scripture for strength –

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

She informed me about a mutual friend that sent an email pertaining to an eagle. I said something along the lines of.. “Huh, a Pastor’s message I just read was also about an eagle.” We prayed for strength as I pulled in to the shelter..

The study started off great. I exited the car and a deaf man was on the picnic table and we immediately began to talk about the Lord. I gave him a bible and invited him to the study. After spending some time talking with other residents and spreading invites, I went into the conference room to study the above verse and pray for the study.

The beginning of Is 41 talks about being silent and letting them come near and speak. I know the context of the verse is not – “This is for Joseph’s bible study in East Lansing, MI”, but.. for anyone who knows when God is speaking to them, well.. He was speaking to me and that’s what He said. :) But anyways, I’m going slightly off track here, but it’s really cool how the Lord works. The deaf man came in and we had some great 1 on 1 going. It was really cool, he talked about things in his life and he did all the talking/reading, I just guided to some scriptures. I prayed over him and we departed. It went very well.

After getting home, I went for a bike ride. It was amazing how this whipped/spent feeling was transformed into energy. Strength was definitely upon me, so cool. As a matter of fact, I didn’t have another passing thought of tiredness after the prayer, praise God. Then, later in the evening, I looked up that Pastor’s message about the eagle and it was the same verse that my friend gave me earlier. So awesome (here is the original link) –

Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

1. EAGLE’S EYES: An eagle has an ability to see an object twenty miles away, not only this, he doesn’t lose focus on his target.

For instance, when an eagle spots a group of animals for prey, he
targets one out them and go for it, leaving the rest. It’s not enough to have a vision, but you must also have focus. Never allow anything or anyone shift your focus on your vision.

2. EAGLE’S WINGS: During the storm and strong wind when other birds disappears in fear, that is when an eagle spreads his wings to fly with the aid of the strong wind.Where other birds sees danger, an eagle sees opportunity.

Storms of life are the wind that aids you to fly. Never see them as
obstacles or allow them to stop you, spread your wings and soar on them like an eagle.

3. EAGLE’S CLAWS: The claws of an eagle are so strong that it is
difficult for an eagle to lose his prey no matter the challenge that
comes his way.

Never let go of your God given dream, hold unto it no the challenges.Your God given dream must be tried and tested, this is when most people loses their God given dreams. Don’t be like any other bird that loses its prey at the slightest shout; be like the eagle and hold unto your God given dream, come what may.

I just love how God works all things together for the good, for those that love God and are called according to His purpose. Praise the Lord, thank you for the help Lord and thank you for the Body.
