Testimony – Faith in His provisions
Here is an awesome testimony and lesson I was taught today. It is on the topic of faith and trust. This is a continued lesson from a previous post: Faith and Trust in God. He’s been speaking on this topic and He gave it to me fully today, praise God.
Over the past couple of weeks or so, I’ve been learning what it means to truly believe in the promises of God, to the point of fully expecting them, with no regards to what I experience with the senses of the flesh. Faith and Trust in God. Faith in His provision. As Jesus taught in the parable of the sower, if the seeds of God fall to the wayside, it will be stolen by the thief.
Today, I’m riding my bicycle over to my friend’s apartment. During the ride, I noticed that the tires needed air. Since 2 air compressors at home are busted, I thought of hitting the gas station. (the little compressor that was working, I just found to be dead this week). Then, a thought came in from the Spirit – Pray. As cheesy as it may sound, I prayed over my tires. I just said “Lord, Your word says that you will provide for me. I ask for a way to pump up my tires. I believe that you will provide this.” I trusted and had faith in His provisions. There were a few other words, but that was the gist of it.
During my ride, I periodically was looking for someone outdoors in their driveway w/ an air compressor. I had an expectation in the Lord providing, but at the same time, I also brought upon my own expectation – I expected His answer to come via someone during my ride. I was leaning on my own understanding and I did not have Faith in His provision, I was trusting my own ways.
When I neared home and seeing that I did not come across a way to get air, a passing thought came… “Well, maybe not..” This was recognized as the thief trying to steal the word. I didn’t dwell on that thought, I stepped aside from it, and said… No.. He will provide. Maybe not in my expectations of time, place, people.. But He will provide sooner or later. He promises and I have Faith in His provisions.
After I got home and parked the bike, the tire/air situation was out of mind. I went inside, got a drink, let the dog out, and came back outside to get some dog food. My roommate has a truck parked out in the driveway and as I walked by it, I saw the rear sliding window of the truck was cracked open with a hornet flying around the window. I decided to shut the window so a nest wouldn’t get built inside. I open the door and on the driver seat sat a mini air compressor.
The interesting thing is is that my roommate and I don’t get along. My initial thought on the opened window of the truck was out of attitude – “It’s their problem”. But I knew that was stupid. Regardless, I knew I should just do the right thing. I was obedient to the voice of the Lord and put to death the stupid thoughts.
James 1:25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.
I had Faith in His provisions, and then when I was tempted to do wrong, I obeyed the Spirit of God. I heard, I opened the truck door (doer), and I was blessed.
Praise Yehovah Yireh, the Lord Provides.

[…] I’m staring at the plant off in the distance and thought to myself – It’s my roommates problem. See, my roommate and I do not have a good relationship and I’m waiting on the Lord to open up doors for me to move on. So I have this thought: “It’s their problem.” Ok.. *heavy sigh*. This wickedness is still there. Lord help me. I just realized this is almost an identical testimony. Please, read this testimony: Faith in His Provisions. […]
