Testimony – Saving Grace
This is amazing. A man, who was agnostic, contacted me. He was an old friend that I haven’t seen in 20 or so years. He wanted to meet with me as he traveled through Lansing on his way home. We sat down and had coffee. This is a testimony of God’s saving grace. All I can say is hallelujah –
As we discussed our lives over the past 20 years, I gave him my testimony. There was a specific topic that was being discussed, and he began to get tears in his eyes. It was one of those things.. nail on the head. He said “I have to be honest with you, I was actually coming through Lansing to meet with a married woman who is having problems in her marriage. I’m going home.” Praise God. Saving grace.
We both are kinda in a similar area of life, not knowing one month to the next where life will go. I said something along the lines of: “I have no clue where I will receive income for future house payments, but I know the Lord will provide.”
The next morning, I received a phone call. The statement of faith that the Lord will provide was answered. Praise God. See, I had faith and God used this situation not only for the building of my faith, but for the saving grace of this man who I talked to the day before. I called my friend and revealed the testimony to him.
Oh, let me back up. When I was on the phone with the answered statement of faith, while receiving God’s provision, I realized God’s providing hand was involved. The grace of God was overpowering. It brought me to tears how God does what He says He will do for His children. As I’m choking back tears on the phone, overcome with His grace, and being thankful to God, my eyes fall upon words on an envelope that is on the table. “A special gift for you…” Praise God.
After I called my friend and revealed the testimony to him, he revealed something to me. “Joe, I have to thank you. As you know, I was agnostic. I’m beginning to be a believer.” He recently prayed to God for the first time and he is now starting to read the bible. Saving grace. Hallelujah.
Oh, this is also cool. He heard from God the next morning. He said that he woke up and has no idea where it came from, but in his mind he received – “Tell Joe he can quit smoking now. And tell him to look to the ground.” He gave me that information and I looked to the ground. When I looked, I saw the blood of Christ. Then I heard, “It is finished.” The cigarettes have already been defeated. I have quit smoking. Saving grace..
Is God good or what? All things work together for the good, for those that love God and are called according to His purpose. Grace.
