Walking with the Lord
Walking with the Lord – After praying and seeking out the Lord, here is a follow-up to a recent post – Choosing Freedom over Slavery. I covet your prayers, encouragement and any insight.
Over the past day or so, I have received guidance related to walking with the Lord. The Lord is showing me that I’m not always walking with Him. I’m hearing (He’s always speaking), but I’m not always doing. Lord: “Pick up your mat and walk” – No walking. Lord: “Go wash your eyes in the pool and see” – No walking. Lord: “Go show your healing of leprosy to the priest” – No walking. “Don’t go there” – I keep walking. Choosing to hear the Lord but no action. Thank you Helper for teaching me. Here’s a few related verses –
Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Deuteronomy 28:9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
Ezekiel 20:18-19 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;
It came together this evening as I prayed. During prayer and meditation, the picture above is what I visualized, but it was me sitting down and the doors were opened with Christ standing there. I prayed: “Lord, I believe you have set me free, thank you. My Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” He said: “Get up, start walking.” I sat there in the pew with my head bowed down. He said “Pick up your mat and walk.” I said: “Where? What do I do? How?” (as I sat there and didn’t move). The Lord walked up to me, and I felt His presence next to me: “Get up, walk with Me.” I stood up and felt great release. He said “Start walking”.. I said “Where to Lord?” He said: “Start walking, you’re free.”
I started to walk and pray. Then I studied the word. The prison doors shut behind me, but I still have the key, choice.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Ephesians 5:8-10 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Colossians 2:6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Here I am. Walking with the Spirit of God and my sin has been paid for at the cross.
2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
How can it be, that my Lord my Savior would die for me? Blessed be the Lord God Almighty.. Lord, I accept your free gift. As terrible as the price was, I thank you for it. Lord, I never ever want to give the gift back. It’s mine. You are my God and I am yours. Here, take the key. I don’t make a good prison guard..
Humbled, thankful, quickened, delivered, amazed, and at times broken but still in the walk. God bless.
There is nothing like walking with Jesus
I sometimes feel like I have to have the whole road ahead of me figured out before I take a step, and that freezes me into inaction. I need to learn obedience and just “get up” and walk, but sometimes when we don’t think we are walking, we look back and find that we really have. The sitting still can be part of the process too. Be at peace….Lori
I’m so thankful for the Body of Christ. Exhort one another while it is still today.. Thank you. Love you too. :)

God is good. I have to share this (I’ll post a testimony later today.)
So He’s teaching me this theme of “Walking with the Lord”. Then, I go to a local grocery store that is owned by a brother in-Christ. At the beginning of every month, he sets out free daily devotion booklets that I have been reading every month. The theme on this month’s booklet “Walking with God.”
Praise God for His teachings and guidance. Thank you Lord. Thank you to those praying for me. Blessed be the Lord.
