Who do we serve?
Man, these emotions sure can be weird. In one breath, I’m anguished and in another, I’m angry. I’m very upset at Satan for his wicked ways of deception. I have a roar in me that wants to come out and I don’t know what to do but write.. Lord help me.
I’m anguished and upset to see those that profess to be Christians live a life that is not in agreement with what they say. I understand that not all of us are at the same place spiritually and that God works with us in different manners, but man.. When I see someone who professes to be a Christian that has not grown more into the image of Christ after years of professing, something is wrong. There is nothing I can do but pray, see if the Lord wants me to talk to them, and write… I can always write. :)
Believer, ponder this – which master do we really serve? Sure, the self loves to say we serve God because our pride wants to sound/look good. We love to puff ourselves up in front of others and we even do it so our ego can be stroked. But, do our actions follow our words? When a fiery dart from the enemy hits our mind, do we bow down to it and accept it or do we stand with the Lord in peace? If we are questioned on a choice to choose the ways of the world, do we justify ourselves and argue, or do we stand in agreement and confess? Do we pray? Do we seek His counsel via the Word? What makes us a Christian? Are we a Christian because we say we’re one? No, that’s a lie.. Christ in our lives makes us a Christian.
Man.. I’m anguished for friends, family, and professing Christians that continually are falling into traps, are continually in turmoil, etc. Over, and over, and over, and over.. The same garbage, different day, different week, different month.. The same patterns.. “Ya, life is great! Another bandaid to feel all warm and fuzzy about life!” … 2 wks later.. “Wah, life sucks. I must get out of this. I must figure this all out on my own. I’ll do ___ and all will be great!” A roller coaster.. Seeking out purpose, answers, etc. but their eyes are looking everywhere but up..
We deceive ourselves. We try to fix things, only to fall again. It just keeps going and going and going. Then we say, “I love Jesus!” I say prove it.. don’t just say it! Show our faith by what we do.. Faith without works is DEAD. Prove it to ourselves.. are we in the Lord or not? Just because we say we are doesn’t make it true.
This isn’t a game.. This is serious business.. Who do we serve? Remember believer? Words bounce off.. they cannot hurt us? I’m rubber & you’re glue.. Sticks & stones? Things hit our eyes/ears, then they can trigger one realm of thought – as the world teaches, or another realm – as God teaches. Choose the world, get the things of the world (stress, worry, depression, hurts, pains, anxiety, etc). Choose God, get the things of God (peace, contentment, joy, etc). It’s that simple. Who do we serve?
Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Satan, stand down in the name of Jesus!!! Man, I’m on fire and feel the need to go pound some principalities of darkness back into the pits of hell. Please join me in praying for the lost, backsliders, the deceived, believers, and for Israel. In the name of Righteousness and Truth! Jesus! Amen.
joining you in prayer against the principalities of darkness, the souls that are being subtly subdued and overtaken by the traps of the enemy, then lost in the blindness that occurs. I have been praying for this for awhile, I see the destruction, the separation and the justification in what was once a godly person but got swayed and manipulated by the evil forces that seek to destroy us. Then because of the blindness the blind can not find their way out/back. They fight desperately…to the point of weariness and giving up. The enemy has stolen the life that once lived for Christ. Satan accomplished his goal in making sure these believers are no longer a threat. They are not strong enough to fight back, they give up the good fight, they quit the race…Yes they need others to pray for them. I boldly join you in this war for Gods children that are out there drowning. Gotta pray them back to Jesus. Plead the blood of Christ over their lives. Love them, be as the good Samaritan, pick them up and carry them back to the arms of Jesus as He is the only one that can save them. There is no pit so deep that God isn’t deeper still. these people need Christians to stand in the gap for them to fight the battle in great travail. We have the authority we must use it and claim victory for them so that all of heaven rejoices for a lost souls has returned and/or turned over their old life for new. In the HOLY NAME OF JESHUA THE NAME ABOVE ALL THE NAMES, THE SON OF GOD ALMIGHTY. AMEN
amen. thank you.. we need a lot of prayer, a lot.
This question really urges us to probe into our hearts and ask ourselves where our true loyalty is. On the outside, we may seem like good Christians, but inside, are we really having an intimate relationship with God? Sad to say, many of us have become LUKEWARM, we seem OK, but are we? We are never really ok unless our LOVE for God is lit once again with a flame that burns with a love willing to sacrifice even one’s own life as Jesus did.
Amen Joyce, amen.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Sometimes we have this thing called spiritual pride. It’s for each person to examine themselves and prove for ourselves whether we are in the faith or not. When we get out of ourselves and truly take an honest look at our souls, thoughts, actions, etc., with our Helper’s help… we will be able to see exactly where we stand. Without examination, we can ‘say’ with our lips that Jesus is Lord.. I say prove it to ourselves.. We must be honest with ourselves, and with God..
James 2:17-20 Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Even the demons believe in God and tremble. Believing in God is not a thing of ‘knowledge’. Believing in God is, as you said, sacrificial. The greek word for believe means to commit to, surrender to, rely upon, and trust in Jesus Christ. There is a HUGE difference between a belief rooted in head knowledge that causes the lips to profess… versus a spiritual belief that causes the soul to bow down to Jesus Christ, surrender, die to self, and TRULY make Him Lord over our lives. These are the 2 kinds of faith James is talking about. A belief from the flesh and a belief from the soul.. One brings forth life everlasting, the other brings death.
How many in the Church are deceived? Man o’ man… how many? Lord help us.. I pray for the souls to see and fully understand this scripture. Lord help the deceived. In Jesus name, amen –
Matthew 7:13-27 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Thanks again for chiming in Joyce. Be blessed friend..
Joseph, there are those Christians who are not running after God, and those who are running but not showing an excessive amount of fruit for all their efforts at pleasing Him.
Some run, but who is actually running? It is only the Spirit which gives the desire to run. We can only run to try to catch up to what the Spirit wants while He runs ahead of us. We do nothing, the Spirit runs in us, and we follow.
There are many who have not been taught how to have a fellowship with God, and they do not run because there is no God in sight for them to run after. They do not have God in their sights and no one has explained to them the intimacy which God offers. And so they have not seen that there is much purpose to the race, except in a next life. And frankly, running for God in this life does not seem to be of great value if it only impacts the next life.
There are many like me who have not been taught how to be caught up with God, and only in this way can one show fruit, by being absorbed in Spirit.
We have been taught by many to pray for our external desires, and to allow God to bless us in external ways, but we have not always been taught how to apprehend God, although many have done so.
Some live a defeated life, more or less, because of error in teaching.
For my part, I have heard over and over again about believing God for healing and finances. But I can not recall any sermon about determining to constantly pray for God to bring out the fruits of the Spirit in us. We are told that joy is available from God but we do not hear that it will not come in great measure without humility and patience, etc. We are told about the baptism in the Holy Spirit but not told to diligently pray for the nine fruits of the Spirit. But these fruits are what God sees are of most value.
This is why we must suffer more than need be, because God is trying to get our attention on those things He wants to instill in us.
We need to pray to internalize God within.
We need to pray to want to run after God with no fears.
We need to pray to be as God is pleased for us to be because that is his pleasure.
We meed to pray for the heart of God to beat within.
We need to pray to love others because we have no ability to love them on our own.
We need to pray to be gentle because the Comforter is gentle.
We need to pray for the Spirit to help others to run.
We need to pray for the kingdom to come simply because God wants it to come, and not to pray because we think God might be impressed with our lofty prayers.
We need to pray for joy not for our sakes but because the other fruits work alongside joy more effectively. We pray such things because it delights God when we do so.
We pray that God abolishes our weaknesses, but we do not fret when the answer is long in coming.
We pray to rejoice in trials.
We pray to bless those who are in weakness, who have temptations which seem almighty. Lift up the oppressed.
We pray to want to lift up others who need uplifting.
We pray for the Spirit to mesmerize the church in a way which helps our mutual understanding.
We pray for the Groom to manifest Himself as our greatest lover within us.
We pray for the high. the low, the sluggards, the spiritually lazy, the overcomers, and the ministers of the word such as you Joseph.
We pray for the word and Spirit to be inside you, outside you, under you, and above you.
We pray that your readers may soar.
We pray that eagles may see us as companions in flight.
We pray for eyes of generousness, that we are saddened for those who have not apprehended the inward blessings of God. Are we pray to be generous in mercy to those in need of relief from the wiles of the enemy.
We pray to be deaf to the voice of the enemy, and blind to his distractions.
Bless you Joseph. Mark
amen mark, thank you. Amen to every prayer.. bless you, thank you.
